Luísa Petiz is a Portuguese architect and watercolor artist based between Lisbon and Macau. She graduated in Architecture from the University of Architecture in Lisbon in 2018.
Her artistic practice is deeply inspired by architecture, travel, and cultural heritage, with a particular focus on urban landscapes, historic storefronts, and architectural details. Through watercolor, she seeks to preserve the memory and identity of places, capturing their character through a realistic and detailed approach.
Luísa began her artistic career while living in Macau, where she developed an extensive portfolio of watercolor paintings depicting the city’s unique architectural heritage. During this period, she held several solo exhibitions, including Macau em Aguarelas in 2021, Um Olhar pelo Oriente and Selos de Passagem, both in 2022, and an exhibition at Sofitel Macau in late 2023. Her work was also featured in Elle Decoration China Magazine in 2021.
After returning to Portugal, she continued exhibiting her work, holding her first solo exhibitions in Lisbon in 2025 at the iconic Armazéns do Chiado, between May and July, and at Chez Bea Café Crêperie, between June and December. She has also participated in several group exhibitions and artistic initiatives across Lisbon.
Her work is currently represented in more than 10 shops and cultural institutions across Lisbon and Porto, including the National Tile Museum, Fundação Oriente, and the iconic Yeatman Hotel. Her Macau collection remains available in several locations in Macau.
Alongside her personal projects, Luísa develops commissioned watercolor artworks for clients worldwide. Between 2025 and early 2026, she illustrated three children's books by bestselling Portuguese author Ana Garcia Martins Onde Estão os Primos? series and D. Manuel I book by Isabel Stilwell in 2021. She has also collaborated on large-scale bespoke projects for international clients, including Chocolates & More in Kuwait, creating custom illustrations for luxury cookie tins, music boxes, and personalised chocolate collections.
"This project was born from the interest to explore my two big passions: travelling and architecture. I always loved visiting new places, wether famous cities and landmarks or hidden and mysterious locations. When I was younger I used to do a lot of urban sketching in Portugal and it quickly became a hobby. I started taking my notebook and watercolor box everywhere I'd travel to. Later, as an architect, I began looking closely into details and I got fascinated with the different styles of cultures, buildings and landscapes. I started saving my memories from those places I had travelled to in watercolors, and helping others remember their special places around the world."
